CareerSpring to Expand Career Resources with New Alternative Pathways Initiative

CareerSpring is thrilled to share that we are expanding our career resources to support more people navigating today’s changing labor market—including our Advisees exploring pathways that do not require a four-year degree.

Our mission isn’t changing. We remain focused on our core four pillars of career access and development, helping our Advisees build the knowledge, skills, connections, and opportunities they need to pursue meaningful careers. This expansion allows us to meet more of our Advisees where they are and support a broader range of pathways into employment.

Dorian Cockrell, National Director for Alternative Pathways shared, “We are excited to launch a new initiative creating direct career paths for those not pursuing a four-year degree. By connecting our Advisees with real opportunities for advancement, this effort strengthens our ability to serve local employers and power our community.”

For our Employer Partners, this means new opportunities to connect with talent pursuing workforce training, industry credentials, apprenticeships, and other career pathways alongside those pursuing four-year degrees.

For our Community and Education Partners, this means we can continue supporting their graduates who pursue a college path, while also providing support to those who enter the workforce, pursue workforce training or industry credentials, or explore other pathways after high school.

ShaJra Austin, National Director of Partner Engagement shared, “Career access is a collective effort, and this expansion into Alternative Pathways is a significant step forward. We are creating new opportunities for our network to unite around a common goal: helping Advisees find their unique way into the workforce. This initiative is about more than just resources; it is about creating a connected network of support that empowers our Advisees to explore and achieve multiple routes to meaningful employment.”

As we expand, there are several ways members of our Network can help us build this work:

• Connect us with volunteers: Introduce us to professionals or retired professionals in your network who have experience with alternative pathways and would be interested in serving as CareerSpring Advisors. Volunteer information and interest form here.

• Grow our Network: Introduce CareerSpring to people in your professional network who may be interested in learning more about our work, volunteering, or becoming a Partner.

We’re excited to expand career access while continuing to do what we do best: helping first-generation and/or low-income students, graduates, and career seekers access meaningful, high-quality employment opportunities.
