When college legacies and professional connections don’t run in a person’s family, their preparation, perseverance, and personal life experiences run the risk of being undervalued. Our Network provides the resources and support to unlock this rich potential, and ensure every first-generation and/or low-income (FGLI) student in America obtains high-quality employment.

By volunteering with our organization, you’ll transform lives with every career video, connection, advising session, or opportunity you make possible. Below are two ways you can get involved to help us make a difference:

Help Shape the Next Generation of Leaders

Become An Advisor

Your career experience and professional path can be a source of guidance and inspiration for FGLI students. As a volunteer Advisor on our Career Platform, you will be able to network with and provide advice for FGLI students/graduates who are just starting their careers.

After a short registration process, the Platform allows volunteers to set their availability so that they can connect as little or as much as they want. When you become an Advisor, students (Advisees) can reach out to you for live advisory video conferences via the Platform’s online meeting software.

Create a Career Video

Share your professional story with our students in a short career video. Answer several key questions about how you got into your career, what your work is like, and what advice you have for FGLI college students considering a similar path.

Career videos are uploaded to our Video Library for Advisees to watch and get an idea of what industry/career they may be interested in.

For the recording, we can set up a meeting to film volunteers virtually or we can send them instructions on how to record themselves
