Advisee Spotlight: Annie Yuen

Advisee Annie Yuen, a student at UCLA majoring in Sociology, expressed an interest in finding new resources to support her job search. Soon after she was introduced to CareerSpring through our Partner Renaissance Scholars.

Initially Annie explored our Career Platform with the sole focus on opportunities from our Employer Partners. When an opportunity with AT&T caught her eye, Annie realized that there’s more to applying for roles than just clicking ‘submit’ and dove into CareerSpring’s resources with an open mind.

When faced with a job assessment and two rounds of interviews, she shared that she was “doing mock interviews with Candidate Coaches at CareerSpring every day until the interview days (shoutout ShaJra)! The mock interviews were the best form of preparation and I learned so much from them!” Annie also connected with Advisors who work at AT&T to gain insights into the company. Her hard work and preparation paid off, and she ultimately secured a full-time offer into their B2B Sales Program! She reflected that, “I dedicate so much of my success with my AT&T B2B Sales Program offer, to CareerSpring.”

Annie encourages other FGLI students and CareerSpring Advisees to follow her example, sharing that “CareerSpring users NEED to utilize mock interviews, they are life changing!...The CareerSpring Network is amazing and mock interviewing with a professional in your industry will make you so much more likely to succeed and get the job offer!”

Whether Advisees are looking for programs, internships, or full-time opportunities, CareerSpring is here to support them from resume submission to their final interviews. Wherever your FGLI students or alumni are in their career journey, encourage them to tap into CareerSpring resources today.
