A Two-Week Window Into What’s Possible with MERGE’s Winter Shadow Program

Each winter, CareerSpring’s Employer Partner, MERGE invites interested Advisees to participate in their two-week Virtual Shadow Program. Over the course of the last few years, over 57 CareerSpring Advisees have participated in the programming, offering a unique learning experience for FGLI students nationwide.

Janae Graves, CareerSpring’s Job Placement Manager shared that

“MERGE provides an invaluable experience for students to shadow industry professionals throughout their day. The students had the opportunity to explore a day in the life of a role they could see themselves pursuing in the future. It was very exciting to see the variety they could choose to be exposed to—from UX design to project management. Through the feedback of our Advisees, it is clear that the experience was incredibly meaningful even through virtual meetings. MERGE empowers students through real-world exposure to build their confidence to navigate the professional world.”

The MERGE Shadow Program offers students the proverbial foot in the door, exposing them to a two-week unpaid shadow program to learn about the workflow of their business, as well as insights into their industry as a full-service advertising agency. Shadowing opportunities are available for departments ranging from brand strategy, media, and marketing to business development, finance, and human resources.

CareerSpring Advisee Thy Nguyen participated in the program this winter and shared that,

“This experience was truly eye-opening for me - I learned so much about marketing analytics in a very practical, real-world way, and I had the chance to connect with inspiring professionals who were generous with their time and insights. The program not only helped me better understand the industry, but also encouraged me to reflect on my own interests and career direction. I’m very thankful to CareerSpring for making opportunities like this accessible and for empowering students to explore, learn, and grow.“
