About Our Job Placement Team
The Job Placement Team at CareerSpring is responsible for designing, planning, executing, and sustaining the job placement process, so that first generation students and graduates learn about, apply to, and secure jobs with high-quality employers. To realize this operation, the Job Placement team manages three key levers in CareerSpring’s Job Placement strategy:
Jobs Board operation requires relationship management with employer partners and collaborative placement agencies, identification and posting of job openings, and targeted job posting outreach to strong-fit candidate groups.
Candidate Screening & Recruitment is a systematic operation that includes vetting applications and candidates through resume reviews, phone screenings, and mock interviews, so that the most competitive candidates are presented to employer partners.
About the Role
The Job Placement Manager is responsible for leading execution of the jobs board and candidate screening and recruitment aspects of CareerSpring’s Job Placement Strategy, in addition to cultivating collaborative relationships between CareerSpring and Employer Partners. To this end, the Job Placement Manager role includes the following responsibilities:
Maintenance of CareerSpring’s on-line Jobs Board, so that it is up-to-date with new and continuing job opportunities (ie. ‘postings’) for first generation students and graduates
Job application intake, review, and determination of application status for subsequent phases in the job candidate vetting process; this includes:
implementing a consistent application (and resume) review approach so that all candidate applications are measured against one consistent set of standards (ie. rubric) that relates to the job opening in question
communicating with job candidates, when applicable, to facilitate candidates’ comprehension of the required application materials, reconciliation of incomplete application materials, and awareness of final application status
Facilitation of video screen(s) and/or mock interview(s), as deemed strategic, to further vet the candidate pool beyond the application review step; this includes:
communicating with job candidates to schedule vetting protocols and informing them of final application status/hiring decisions
implementing the most strategic vetting approach within CareerSpring’s standard operating procedures for candidate screening, and documenting candidate impressions and fit during the vetting process
Communication with Employer Partners throughout CareerSpring’s candidate screening and recommendation process, as needed, to keep employers apprised of the scope of the candidate pool for the job posting, status of the vetting process, and final candidate recommendations
Use of JobAdder – CareerSpring’s web-based candidate recruitment and application management software – to streamline and maintain records of candidate intake, vetting, and related documentation
Collaboration with CareerSpring’s Job Placement leadership, Regional Program Managers, and other CareerSpring staff to ensure that Network stakeholders within each region (ie. Employer Partners, Education Partners, Advisors, and Advisees) are apprised of, participating in, and contributing to optimal job placement outcomes for that region; this includes:
reporting placement success, as deemed strategic, to any Network Partners, Advisors, and/or Candidate Coaches who were directly involved in or supported the placement effort
maintaining accurate job placement status data, to be used internally by the CareerSpring team, to track progress to goals and strategize job placement operations
innovating and problem-solving around areas for improvement within the job posting and/or candidate screening operation, to reach optimal job placement outcomes
Qualifications for the Role of Job Placement Manager
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of five years of work experience in human resources required, with work in candidate recruitment and/or placement strongly preferred

Proficiency in using Google Suite, web-based software programs such as CareerSpring’s Platform and Job Adder (or similar Applicant-Tracking software), is required

Proficiency and professionalism in written and oral communication is required
Work Environment, Schedule, & Compensation
The Job Placement Manager is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation range commensurate with the years and nature of work experience the Manager brings to CareerSpring. Given that most functions can be executed through on-line, telephone, and teleconference, the Job Placement Manager will have the flexibility to work remotely from a home office. In-person collaboration or other work demands may require some travel to CareerSpring regions and will be communicated as needed.
